Gio Cha Duc Huong Information

If you're in San Jose and craving authentic Vietnamese flavors, Gio Cha Duc Huong is the place to be. Tucked away at 2569 S King Rd Suite C1, this humble spot offers a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you'll find that the restaurant stands out for its commitment to traditional dishes and flavors.

The menu at Gio Cha Duc Huong is a perfect representation of Vietnamese cuisine. The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly cooked pho, sizzling plates of banh xeo, and the comforting fragrance of lemongrass and spices. But what really sets this diner apart is its specialty: the gio cha, a Vietnamese cold cut that’s simply a must-try. It's the type of dish that feels like it’s been crafted with love, each bite offering a delightful balance of herbs, spices, and textures. The rich flavors and freshness make it an absolute standout, and the crispy texture gives it a satisfying crunch that pairs perfectly with the accompanying pickled vegetables.

One of the things that really makes Gio Cha Duc Huong shine is the care that goes into each dish. The pho, for example, is served steaming hot with the perfect balance of broth and noodles. The beef is tender, and the flavors are layered, giving it that deep umami that you can only find in an expertly made bowl of pho. If you're not in the mood for soup, there are plenty of other options on the menu, like the banh mi sandwiches, which come stuffed with everything from roasted pork to grilled chicken. Each sandwich is generously filled with ingredients, ensuring that every bite delivers a satisfying crunch with a burst of flavor.

The service here is friendly and efficient, with staff who are quick to make recommendations if you're unsure about what to order. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making you feel like you're dining at a friend's place rather than just another restaurant. Even on busy days, they manage to maintain a sense of calm and attentiveness, ensuring that your dining experience is always pleasant.

What truly sets this diner apart, though, is its local charm. It's a neighborhood gem that brings people together, offering a welcoming space for families and friends to gather and enjoy a meal. Whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or settling in for a leisurely dinner, Gio Cha Duc Huong provides a laid-back dining experience that feels both special and comfortable. It’s clear that this restaurant values authenticity, quality, and a sense of community, making it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

What People's Say About Place

The sandwich tastes very good. People are friendly. There is a line constantly for ordering and pick up.

This is a food to-go shop with a great selection of Vietnamese dishes that are perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. I particularly enjoyed the snail sausage, cinnamon sausage, and the various sweet soups, which were all flavorful and delicious. While the food is designed for takeout, the atmosphere inside the restaurant is still pleasant and welcoming. I appreciated the fun touch of the display of poems on the glass cabinet, which added a bit of personality to the place. The service from the staff was friendly and efficient, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Although the selection may be limited at times, the quality of the food makes up for it. If you're looking for a tasty and convenient meal on-the-go, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. I recommend the snail sausage - it was cooked to perfection and had a great balance of flavors. Overall, a great experience at this food to-go spot.

I dont know how they can get away without paying Tax is beyond me lol. Cash only establishment. The patties and food are the best. They never run out. But They close 6pm Daily.

Duc Huong Gio Cha in Sun Plaza is a solid choice for Vietnamese sandwiches, offering freshly baked bread and well-balanced fillings. Their signature cold-cut bánh mì stands out, featuring smooth pâté, flavorful cha lua (Vietnamese pork sausage), and crisp pickled vegetables. The balance of textures—soft, crunchy, and rich—keeps this spot reliable for a satisfying bite. While service is efficient, peak hours can lead to slower turnaround times. Some visits may feel rushed, with minor variations in ingredient proportions, but overall, the quality remains consistent. If you're craving a classic bánh mì with authentic flavors, this shop is worth stopping by.

The cha here is the best, authentic flavor and good prices. Call ahead to place large orders, then come pickup. We ordered 80 cha to take home out of state.

Great selection Vietnamese hams, pepper ham, pork skin ham, cinnamon pork ham, Vietnamese rice and pork cakes wrapped in banana leaves, baguettes, sticky rices. Crowded shoppers, watch out to make sure cashiers see your dollar bills of 10s or 20s. They sometimes made smart mistakes assuming your 20s are 10s. Parkings ok. Everything are normally fine.

Been coming here for years. My secret go to place for chả lụa and bánh chung but don't tell anyone. This particular location doesn't have bánh mì sandwiches. They specialize in the steamed ham, baguettes, and a few other prepared items. I do like their pate which comes in 2 sizes ($8/10). They will often run out of the bánh chưng if you come too late in the afternoon. Don't expect friendly service. Know what you want when you're at the register. Cash only.

This is the place that you either love and hate it at the same time, or just hate it. They need to be more polite to customers. Their Cha are ones of the best in the area though. Always here for their Cha Bi and Cha Oc.
